about us
We are a CCTV design, supply and fit company with 23 years trading history based in North Wales. We’ve been trusted for 23 years now!
When we first started, 23 years ago, CCTV technology was basic and consisted of 24 Hour Time Lapse Video Recorders and Multiplexers. Technology moved on pretty quickly and it wasn’t long before we started incorporated the next step up the PC-based CCTV systems. This new technology gave you the option of saving over a whole month worth of footage on the hard drive instead of 31 video-tapes.
These were now the most technologically advanced systems on the market and we, Active CCTV, felt proud to be offering our customers the first installation of them in North Wales. That was some time ago now, but our ethos is still the same, to strive to stay right on the front line of technological advancement when it comes to CCTV surveillance system so businesses can feel safe and secure.

We have gained a name for ourselves working with complex installations, when other installers have failed we have been asked to step in. A typical example of this was a Wifi related CCTV installation on a large caravan holiday park. Our expertise was proven and with the use of quality hardware and software the installation was completed to the relief of the customer.
You may be witness to how rapid Technology has moved over the last 23 years. Think of your first ever mobile phone, now compare to your current phone, extraordinary isn’t it. The same can be said for the advances in CCTV technology and so it is our mission to offer our customers CCTV fit for the future.
Active CCTV is a small perfectly formed business advising and installing the right surveillance technology for different businesses. We still have many of our original customers since the very day we opened. We support the local clubs, we are part of the local community and business groups, we hire local people and use local suppliers.
How do you know if your CCTV needs upgrading?
“If your CCTV system is over three years old, the likelihood is that you will still be on an analog system,” adds Adrian founder of Active CCTV. “This means your images will be very poor quality compared to the new cameras which are an incredible 8MP. You will be surprised how picture quality has improved in comparison. Always look at the compression ratio too, technology has massively reduced the amount of Hard Drive storage needed today as well as reducing the Broadband width required when on a Lan network”
